Now that December is in full swing, we’re turning to a warming mug of some of our favorite hot chocolate recipes to combat the winter chill. Start off with a recipe for Creamy Hot Chocolate and then add your favorite mix-ins and toppings, like chocolate shavings, peppermint marshmallows, and even a pinch of chili powder for a fiery kick in your cup.

I’ll be wrapping up my next dinner party with mugs of Grasshopper Hot Chocolate. It’s a silky infusion of cocoa, crème de cacao, and crème de menthe are sure to make an addictive winter cocktail.

What’s in your mug?

I use cinnamon and a pinch of cayenne for a Mexican-style hot chocolate! It has a kick but isn’t spicy per se.

NOTHING BETTER THAN HOT CHOCOLATE ON A COLD WINTER DAY IN MONTREAL………

    Ingrid says:

A must try is Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum with your hot chocolate – warms your inside and makes you think you’ve arrived on a warm sunny island. I also add a fresh grate of nutmeg on top to round out the flavor. Yummmmmm.

Also, try a “broken leg” which is peppermint schnapps and hot chocolate for another great winter treat.

Either way, you can’t go wrong. This even works with fat-free hot chocolate!
